About me

Ole Tomashe’s choreographic and artistic work is situated at the intersection of theory and practice which deals with performance, dance, and the arts with a focus on teaching.

Artistically, Olena has been investigating performance and dance for approximately 30 years. Her current artistic project has the working title Mother’s dance.

She stated: „I am an artist, a dancer, a painter but above all I am a mother and a wife to a wonderful husband. Together we have 2 kids who are my proud achievements in life!“

Olena has taught a wide range of interdisciplinary classes ranging from dance studies, dance practice, Painting to history of Indian arts.

Olena is in collaboration with her team of specialist choreographers working in live performance with dance and scholarship programs to India.

She studied Nursing at medical College of Odessa year 2000-2003, Theatre school No. 1 at Odessa in the year 1999-2004, fine art 2004-2008 in Munich, Dance at Kalakshetra foundation, Chennai in the year 2008-2012, prenursery education in the year 2015-2019 in Munich, Hatha Yoga 200 RYS Alliance International in February 2023.

Olena was initially trained in the classical Indian dance form Bharathanatyam and completed her debut arangetram under the guidance of Girish Sir in Chennai. As a dancer, therefore, she considers Bharathanatyam dance as a first language. The paradox of dancing Bharathanatyam but not being able to speak Tamil (the language of Tamil Nadu) is integral to her identity as a dancer led Olena towards creating contemporary choreography, which has evolved into her main artistic focus. In addition to Bharathanatyam, she is choreographed Bharatanatyam modern, dance postmodern/contemporary European dance, and Yoga Dance. Olena began her journey of Yoga in India in 2008 in Kalakshetra college of fine arts. In 2023 she obtained her international alliance RYS200 Hatha Yoga certificate and began teaching yoga to woman in German, English and Russian online and in present. Through the Yoga art, she began her „Self discovery“.
„Yoga calmed my mind and regenerated my entire system. I achieved peace and silence within myself. It revealed my true essence and I feel I owe it to the artform to spread the knowledge to others. In my opinion, controlled breathing techniques is a tool, that can’t be underestimated. It helped me to realise new possibilities, revitalised dormant power and strength I did not know existed. With mind control and breathing techniques, one can contort their bodies in ways that were never imagined!
My journey has not yet ended, but in fact only just begun! I have high expectations in this field to discover various platforms and avail my skill to the people whom I find dear to me!“
